NBA’s Best and Worst Logo Changes

It’s funny how NBA logos are still changing. But it’s funnier how the teams that need better logos – *cough, Pacers, Thunder – aren’t doing much about it. Instead, we have teams making questionable adjustments to the overall look of their franchise. A big thanks to SportsLogos.net for hosting sports logos in such high quality. Be sure to follow the links in this snippet to see the logos in full size.

Best New Logo: 76ers

For me, Philadelphia has to receive the award for best new (old) logo. They basically revamped their old style of logo which was incredible in the first place. But continuity has to count for something, right? So I’d say that the Bulls had the best logo since it started as a team, since it hasn’t changed and is still very good.

Worst New Logo: Magic

What was Orlando thinking? I mean, can you honestly tell me that their Old Logo wasn’t better? Out of all the logos last year, I’d say Orlando’s was one of the best – now it’s one of the worst. Some bad choices have been made by the Cavaliers and the Jazz, too. And although I just led you to extremely positive articles, my thoughts aren’t quite as cordial.

Wait, that Wasn’t Even a Driver!

Swish. This is incredible. So incredible that I’ve subscribed to Their Channel and can’t wait for new videos. They’ve made others and are going trick shot galore, which is nice. But this one in particular reminds me of my first sink shot. Only the ball wasn’t big and orange, nor was the hole replaced by a rusty back garden portable hoop.

If you liked that, you probably won’t want to miss their latest and 3rd Trick Shot Montage at all, now would you?

All Time Franchise Wins Infographic

An infographic that I could make courtesy of countless statistics provided by Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia. What you’re seeing right now is every NBA teams’ logos and (rough) locations. The more games each franchise has ever won, the larger their logo appears. It might be harder to depict the wins of teams with logos that aren’t perfect circles, but the top ten and bottom five lists should give you a good idea of who’s boss around here.

Each logo has next to it, in writing, the date that the team was established. And you can therefore make sense of old teams like the Knicks having a lot of wins, compared to the Charlotte Bobcats owned by Michael Jordan, established in 2004. The writing may be fuzzy/hard to read, so please view the Full Size Infographic and feel free to use it in your blog, or whatever.

Road Trips vs. Home Games, the Infographic

A very cool and interesting infographic on road trips and home games for each NBA team. The darker the colour of the block, the longer their home stretch or road trip is. Note how Washington is never on the road for too long – unlike both L.A. teams, who play eight away games during the same period, probably because the Staples centre is being used for a hockey tournament or something.

NBA Players Eat Snacks?

Wow, did not know this. Who would expect NBA players, other than Shaq and Glen Davis, chugging down some light snacks in between meals and workouts to keep the energy going? Okay, small meals are good. But weight trainers and all that don’t enjoy their snacks. Basketball players on the other hand have huge giant bodies, so an energy bar ain’t shit.

Liked that? How about superstar Chris Bosh Eating a Breakfast so big it hardly fits on the plate, times two. Or the USA Olympics Basketball Team chowing on some fast food at a gas station, mmm. But that only means two things. One, these dragons work their buts off so hard that they need that much energy, and it won’t hurt their waistline. Two, they are huge. Full stop.
